This is the first time I'm adding a page for a place I haven't actually launched from. I have launched from a point about a block away and quickly realized that this was a better launch point. Since I mentioned this launch point on that page, and since I snapped a few pictures when I was nearby, I figured I'd set up this page.

Pros: Very short walk to the shore. More parking than other nearby launch spots and it's all shaded.

Cons: Not much space to set up your gear, but I haven't actually tried to do that here. Close to I-90, so it's relatively loud until you paddle away.

Overall: Hard to say since I haven't actually launched from here, but it looks like the place to go in this area.

Like I said above, I didn't actually launch from here on this trip, but I did launch from right nearby, so several of the shots from the water should still be representative. Also, I met a paddler named Carol who was launching from this site and confirmed that it was the place to go. For more information about the trip I actually went on this day, check out the Calkin's Landing page.

Easy to spot from the road.

There isn't much to the park, but looks like it'll do the job.

The view north. I-90 is closer than it looks here.

The view south from nearby Calkin's Landing.

A view across the lake. The Seattle skyline is very prominent.

I swear, you could really see Mt. Rainier when I took this shot. There's some sort of physics reason why it didn't show up, I'm sure.

Another nice view as we paddled along the shoreline.
