WHAT'S NEW
What have you done for us lately?
9/29/20 While waiting for the fog to clear before trying to sneak in a paddle today, I finally got around to posting a report from a quick Phantom Lake trip I took almost exactly a month ago. I'm planning on going out to Clyde Beach today, and hopefully I'll get this report out a little quicker. I'm also going to update the Gear page a bit, as I've somewhat soured on my Aquaglide Columbia a bit. It's still nice and portable, but it has a few issues keeping a straight line and setting it up and tearing it down at the site followed by setting it up and taking it down at home for cleaning has long since lost it's charm. I should say, there have been a few reasons I haven't gone out paddling as often lately, mostly related to transition issues and, well *gestures vaguely at the entire world.* Hopefully things will be improved on both of those fronts by the time the weather gets nice enough to take the kayak out next year.

8/14/19 This site isn't dead, I promise! The lack of updates is due to a big transition that I'm going through right now. Hopefully once things calm down I'll be be able to head out more. In the meantime, I've just posted a brief Phantom Lake trip report and I hope to have one up from our annual family float trip soon.

8/7/18 Made it out to Phantom Lake again for a lovely day of paddling.

7/26/18 Finally managed to go out for a paddle and found a great new launch site. Unfortunately, I launched from a site that was only perfectly adequate. Check it all out on the new Calkin's Landing and Proctor Landing pages. Oh, and I also added in a link to a Google Maps page that has all the sites on the Paddles page flagged. Let me know if you have any problems with it.

7/23/18 Well, due to a run of awful weather and then being busy with other projects, I haven't done as much paddling as I'd like this year. I'm planning on going out tomorrow, but in the meantime I've updated the Gear page with a quick checklist of the gear I take with me on a trip. Hopefully it'll be of use to someone.

5/17/18 I got a chance to go out paddling again and this time I finally made it to the UW arboretum! My favorite place to go, bar none. (Well, ok, some of the floats up in the mountains are pretty nice too.) Anyway, check out my trip report.

4/24/18 No sooner do I start working on this site than the weather turns sunny and I get a chance to go out for my first paddle of the year. I got to try a new place today, Phantom Lake, and it turned out to be a fun little paddle, if not terribly exciting. Check out my report! I also added in a new link to King County's list of data on the lakes of King County. It's on the Links page, of course.

4/22/18 Been working on the site behind the scenes to clean it up a bit and hopefully make it look nicer on mobile devices. I also took out the Google ads for complicated plot reasons. For right now I've just added a Ko-Fi button for anyone who wants to donate and help support my adventures. Also, if there's anywhere in western Washington (ideally the greater Seattle/Bellevue area) that you want me to check out, let me know via the Contact form.

9/27/17 Took advantage of some unseasonably nice weather and headed down to Wilmot Gateway Park for a bit of a paddle. Nothing like the "float" from earlier in the year. Had a great time!

9/2/17 Took my freshly repaired boat out to Enatai Beach Park for a test run last week, and finally had a chance to post about it today.

8/28/17 Got a new floor bladder for my kayak (thanks to Aquaglide's 3 year warranty I got it fast and free), so I should be out on the water again by tomorrow!

8/16/17 Added in a trip to Madison Park Beach I took yesterday. Unfortunately, my kayak developed problems on the Wenatchee River float which were obviously worse on this trip, so this may be my last trip for a bit. I'm working with the people at Aquaglide to get her fixed. I'll update you as I find out more.

8/14/17 The site is now live! Let me know what you think. I plan on updating whenever I go out for a paddle and then get around to typing things up, probably every week or two during the summer.
